The IMDb boat made a successful return to San Diego Comic Con. The boat is a fan favourite among attendees and this year was no different.

From Thursday-Saturday, the boat was open for fans to enjoy food, drink, photo ops, and games, as well as the opportunity to win various swag.

On entry, attendees were given a passport that would be stamped at different activations and once completed would gain them an IMDb captain hat.

The first activation we stopped at was the LOTR: Rings of Power photo op where guests could put on wigs and hats, and hold various props while being photographed in front of a LOTR backdrop.

Next up, we visited the Disney Lorcana booth where we were given trading cards.

Our favourite activity was the IMDb trivia game where attendees were presented with photos of several actors and had to match the trivia fact with them in a limited time. This was a favourite amongst guests, with people queuing up multiple times to play. If a certain high score was reached, players were given a special IMDb visor.

For guests that wanted a break from the activities, the bar was serving up soft drinks, as well as beer and wine. For food, fans were treated to DiGiorno pizza with some limited edition flavours inspired by Deadpool and Wolverine. There was also the very popular ice cream bar for dessert. All the flavours were great, but the S’mores option was the definite winner. They even toasted the marshmallow with a mini blow torch which was the perfect finishing touch.

The IMDb boat is always a crowd pleaser and from our experience it’s easy to see why. It pairs the right amount of swag, games, and photo ops as well as providing food and drink which is the formula for a perfect offsite. We’re hoping it sails back into San Diego next year!
