Ready For Netflix To Scare You?

The case of Elisa Lam is quite a strange one. Elisa was a Canadian student visiting L.A. when she mysteriously vanished. Days later she would turn up dead in the water tank of the Cecil Hotel. Looking back at the security footage we begin to see a lot of strange activity on the evening of her disappearance.

In the security footage, Lam is seen exiting and re-entering the elevator, talking and gesturing in the hallway outside, and sometimes seeming to hide within the elevator, which itself appears to be malfunctioning. No one knows what happened theories ranged from claims of paranormal involvement to her bipolar disorder. It has even been argued that the video was altered prior to release

On February 10th Netflix is going to show us their own investigation into what happened at the Cecil Hotel, one that will not only delve into the dark history of this building, but also into the realms of the impossible.

This is going to be one for those dark cold nights…

  1. It’s weird I ran across this because I watched half of a movie inspired by this last night! I didn’t know it was a real event, and did not see the documentary available…but there’s a movie called Followed on Amazon Prime about a vlogger who stays 3 night at the hotel for a publicity stunt (trying to get followers) and things were just starting to go wrong and get creepy when I cut it off because dinner was ready. I’ll be watching the other half while making dinner tonight.
