R.I.P James Garner (1928-2014)

JAMES-GARNER

Tragically Actor James Garner passed away. I say Actor but he was so much more; a man of politics, a golfer, owner of the American International Racers” (AIR) Auto Racing team and family man, he did lead quite a life, appearing in many small and big screen roles. He was a great Actor who defiantly left his mark on the business.

Maybe you’re a fan of his work in the Great Escape and Rockford Files or maybe you remember him from 8 Simple Rules and The NoteBook. His career was as long and varied as his interests. He truly was an acting great.

Reading up about the man is quite inspiring as he seemed like a man of action, something I feel is lost on today’s generation and I just loved this quote by him –

“When I started working, I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, in that I was just wandering around, hoping that I could succeed. Then after I got a little under my belt, it took me about 25 years to feel like I knew what I was doing.”

As a fan of his work, I highly recommend  Space Cowboys, The Great Escape and anything else from his filmography as you will not be disappointed.

R.I.P James you will be sorely missed.

  1. I will miss “Ole Jimmy” and Rockford files is one of my favorite old shows. He was one of the oldies but goodies. I’m sad to hear he died. Another ‘end-of-an-era’. Rest In Peace! James.
