Stranger Things Season 5 First Look

“Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things,” The Duffer brothers told fans back in 2022. “At the time, we predicted the story would last four or five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale.”

3 years later and we’re now closer than ever with the release of the official trailer. A teaser was released back in July, but in celebration of Halloween, Netflix released the full trailer for the final season.

The trailer which has been masterfully edited with Queen’s “Who Wants To Live Forever” aptly playing in the background shows our favourite band of heroes getting ready to face their final battle with Vecna.

Netflix has also shared the official synopsis for the season: “The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: to find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”

With tons of action, incredible special effects and some exciting new faces (hello Linda Hamilton), the final season is shaping up to be the perfect send off. The show will be released in three installments:

  • Volume 1 on November 26th
  • Volume 2 on Christmas Day
  • The finale on New Year’s Eve 2025

And while we’re all sad to see this fantastic series end, we can’t wait to watch what may be its best season yet.
