Always a great event, IGN, in conjunction with One Piece and Toei Animation, returned to San Diego Comic Con this year to host their annual party at the Hard Rock Hotel rooftop, and they did not disappoint.

One Piece is a manga series that follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Pirate Hats, as he explores the Grand Line in search of the mythical treasure known as the “One Piece” to become the next King of the Pirates. Its success saw it be turned into an anime series and most recently a critically acclaimed live action show on Netflix which made it the perfect theme for this party. Fans of the show were able to immerse themselves in the world with multiple photo ops including posing with characters from the show. There were also trading card giveaways.

A party is only as good as its entertainment and IGN made sure to keep people dancing all night long with a brilliant DJ. Canapés including empanadas, spring rolls and chicken skewers were served and general admission tickets got 2 free drinks vouchers. We were fortunate enough to score VIP tickets which gave free drinks all night long. And it wasn’t just Comic Con fans enjoying the party, talent including Tricia Helfer, Robert Sheehan, and Ryan Kwanten all attended.

The IGN party has been a highlight of Comic Con for years now and it’s easy to see why. They consistently deliver a fun theme and great atmosphere that makes fans eager to return, and this year was no different. Fingers crossed they return for SDCC 2026!
