This one is heartbreaking, Rachel Lillis was a formative part of many of our childhoods, especially since she is best known as the original voice of Misty & Jessie in Pokemon.

Back in May 2024, a GoFundMe campaign created by Lillis’s sister announced that Lillis had developed breast cancer. Unfortunately, it was not soon enough. And tragically, she succumbed to her cancer.

We managed to get a glimpse of Rachel while at MCM. She managed to light up the entire auditorium with her presence and was utterly humbled by the effect she had on the lives of so many people. I’d say something special here, but instead, I think it best I leave you with the words of her costar Veronica Taylor.

“She passed away during the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. Like those shooting stars, Rachel was a magnificent wonder and truly special. She will live on in our memory for eternity.”
