If you are a fan of horror classics then you are going to love this. Dynamite Entertainment is bringing one of my old favorites, Puppet Master to the world of trading cards. Here is the pitch:

Do you remember when you first saw Puppet Master? I do. It was 1989 and I was anxiouls awaiting it’s release on VHS at the local video tape rental store. What’s that you ask? Well kiddies, way back 35 years ago, before the internet, before cell phones, and before streaming services, you had to go to a store and browse physical copies of videos on big clunky casset tapes. It was like going to the library to check out movies to watch at home. Slogans like “be kind, rewind” and “two day rental” ruled the day.

But with your trusty rental card in hand, a few bucks in your wallet, and some luck, you could find hidden gems in the horror section that would make the night epic. Puppet Master was one of those gems. Amidst a sea of schlock, the brash movie about killer pupets was one of the most saught after rentals in the store. And I was there for the day it dropped waiting in line to watch it.

As a fan of this series, I am so backing this project, especially since series creator Charles Band is involved. There are a tonne of rewards and like many great cards, they are more than meets the eye.
