Fragile rock was an iconic part of my childhood. One of my earliest memories is sitting in my aunt and uncles living room, watching this wonderful little creation from the mind of Jim Henson.
Apple TV have decided to bring the show back, and to modernise the series, they created a new theme, one performed by the K-Pop sensation that is AESPA.
So, if you have not heard of Fraggle Rock, this is the explanation from the Henson Company website.
“Jim Henson’s fun-loving and musical Fraggles – Gobo, Red, Boober, Mokey, Wembley, Uncle Travelling Matt – alongside new Fraggles and Doozers – embark on epic, hilarious adventures about the magic that happens when we celebrate and care for our interconnected world.”

The show was something truly special. When Jim created it, he envisioned it as something that could create world peace. In fact, this was the first Western children’s show that was shown in the USSR.
Fraggle rock taught kids about things like the environment and prejudice. Jim wanted the world’s children to see how we were all interconnected, and that was something truly beautiful. But on top of that, Jim described the series as “a high-energy, raucous musical romp. It’s a lot of silliness. It’s wonderful.”
This new song by AESPA seems to capture that feeling perfectly. Choosing a Korean group to perform it fits perfectly with the ethos of the series. This definitely shows promise for the series going forward.
I may be a bit too old for Fraggle Rock, but I’m glad it’s here for the younger generations.
