To this day, though controversial, people still know that the original Ghostbusters theme is absolutely iconic. Though the franchise has featured other songs, nothing has even come close to how great the original was. Well, now there might be a worthy challenger.
Japanese girl group ATARASHI GAKKO! have been brought in to create a unique take on the original theme tune. It’s different enough that at first you won’t know it’s a cover, but it is fantastic.

Atarashii Gakko!, known in Japan as Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders, is a Japanese girl group formed in 2015. Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders adopts a philosophy of challenging the norms of Japanese society. They are all about embracing being different and going against the grain. In my opinion, that makes them perfect to take on this project.

They are well known for their fast-paced tunes, with exceptional dance moves. Seriously, these girls can dance.

The video sees the girls dealing with the frozen fallout of a ghost attack before suiting up to take on the threat themselves. To help make this possible, Sony enlisted the help of an official Japanese Ghost Buster fan group. They supplied the production with the Proton Packs and various other equipment seen throughout the video.
Now, if you don’t mind, I am off to listen to this track again.
