I am a huge fan of this artist, she is an epic talent and even if I cannot 100% relate with her because a lot of her tracks are from the perspective of one women to another, I still find that her themes cross those divides and become universal and “I wish” is no exception.
As usual she takes the art of the music video and elevates it to so much more. Her videos are more like short movies with a fantastic narrative and some great choreography to boot. Though do not let that surface level stuff fool you because it is not to long before the video shifts gear and covers topics such as ghosting, body positivity, unrequited love and teenage heartache. Mix all that with a nice homage to the craft and you have a real winner. Looks like she has crafted another gem with this one – pun totally intended.
