For those who have been to San Diego Comic-Con, one of the best events held annually is the WIRED cafe. This is an event sponsored by WIRED Insider to promote some of the best or upcoming and exciting technology including the Oculus VR experience. Last year when I attended, the best parts included the Game of Thrones ‘Ascend the wall’ Oculus VR experinece, the custom engravings by Epilog Laser and of course taking home a 3D printed souvenir from MakerBot.
This year WIRED Insider and Jaguar have teamed up to create and host the first ever Boffin’s Lab experience for those attending the 2015 SXSW Festival. This will provide an immersive technological consumer experience. This one-of-a-kind curated lab celebrates the best of tech gear and extends Jaguar’s “British Intelligence” and “British Villains” marketing campaigns which launched last year. In fact many of you may not know all the British actors that have featured in their commericals including Benedict Cumberbatch, Nicholas Hoult, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston,Sir Ben Kingsley and Mark Strong.
The exhibit will be open to the public March 13th opening at 9pm- Sunday, March 15th at The Hangar Lounge in Downtown Austin. Consumers will also have the opportunity to be among the first in the U.S. to view the all-new Jaguar XE, which goes on sale in 2016.
Guests will be able to experience Leap Motion technology – a virtual reality activation that builds upon basic oculus rift technology with motion controlled experience – and take home a 3D printed Jaguar XE replica from Makerbot. Additionally, boffin bags curated by WIRED tastemakers will be on display and feature themes such as “Looking into the Future” and “Going Behind the Scenes.”
The 2015 SXSW Interactive Festival will run from March 13 to March 17 in Austin, Texas.
