With the success of a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms it seems that HBO is looking to strike while the iron is hot and have just dropped the newest trailer for House of the Dragon Season 3.
A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms reminded us why Westeros works at its best. The quiet conversations. The charged glances across a hall. The scrape of steel before a duel. The characters. That’s what Game of Thrones always did better than anyone else — not just spectacle, but tension between people.
But now? Now it’s time for a bombastic spectacle.
With House of the Dragon entering its next phase, the Greens and the Blacks aren’t just at war anymore — they’re heading toward total war. Dragons, armadas, shifting alliances, and military manoeuvres on a scale we haven’t fully seen yet.
Returning to the fray we have Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon, and Fabien Frankel as Criston Cole. All phenomenal performers.
And here’s the real hope: that the showrunners remember what made Westeros legendary in the first place. Yes, give us dragons tearing through fleets. Give us chaos. Give us fire and blood.
But I also hope pray to the old gods snd the new that HBO gives these actors room to breathe. Give us the slow burns. The political chess matches. The moments where a single line of dialogue cuts deeper than a Valyrian steel blade.
I’m genuinely excited for what’s coming — cautiously optimistic, but ready.

Here’s hoping for an epic season.
