The Op Games: Party Game Game Party SDCC 2025 Review

A party filled with games, swag, drinks and food sounds like the perfect night to us, and that’s exactly what The Op Games, in conjunction with Den of Geek, Nerdist and Geek and Sundry, gave us on Thursday 24th July at San Diego Comic Con.

For fans lucky enough to score an invite, they were led through guided gameplay getting to test out a variety of games including Flip 7 and Tapple. The Op Games have been making incredible games for over 30 years, making them the perfect host. Both experienced game players and novices were thought of, and thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in the games.

If attendees wanted a break from gameplay, there was a food station serving up tasty snacks like mini corn dogs, onion rings, spicy cauliflower, and popcorn. We have to shoutout the doughnuts which were the standout and the item people (us) kept coming back for.

And of course, there was an incredible drinks menu to go with the food. Delicious themed cocktails (and a mocktail) really upped the party vibe. Our personal favourite was the 90s Flashback Old Fashioned. The maple gave a brilliant twist to the classic cocktail. The Op Games catered for all though so if cocktails weren’t to guests liking they were offered wines, beers and softs, to ensure everyone had a great time.

And the best way to end any party? Swag. Guests were generously given a cool bag with pins as well as their own copy of the Flip 7 game so they could continue the fun at home.

With a great atmosphere and a well organised operation, The Op Games held a unique and incredibly fun party kicking off Comic Con 2025 in the best way possible. Here’s hoping they’ll be back next year so we can play even more games.
