Dragged myself out of bed to find that it was raining. It being wet doesn’t bother me, but it’s still bloody warm, this is not the ideal weather for a con, yet the weather is due to pick up later, so to hell with it, I’m off to MCM.
First up, we went to S5 to try out the alien themed interactive experience. This was so much fun, you get a couple of freebies and the staff really get into their roles. In short, you play an investigator at a spaceship crash when a face hugger gets loose. It’s really worth checking out.

Now, it was time for me to become a life-sized action figure.

After a quick bacon bap, it was time to go to the David Tennant panel.

This pannel was packed, it was so packed it had to be broadcast live to multiple locations at the Con. Mr Tennant was an absolute gentleman and had the crowd laughing the whole time. If you follow are Tiktok, YouTube, and IG, you will see plenty of clips from the pannel, just like this one:
Now, since we had a bit of time to kill, we decided to grab some lunch. Bian Dang has been coming to the last few conventions, and I absolutely love their braised pork. So, I had to treat myself.

This is probably going to be viewed as a weird thing that I love about MCM, but I’ve been to cons all over the world, and MCM has the best variety of food to choose from.

Now to do some walking about before and see the beautiful outdoors.

Got to meet plenty of amazing cosplayers. Keep an eye out because we will be posting their photos separately.
But now I needed a break so straight to the live stage for Rolling for Mayhem. This was Dungeons and Dragons with a twist. The audience was in control of the dice roles. As the host CJ says, “it’s going to go terribly, and that’s the way he likes it.”

The session sees Obi-Wan Kenobi, Wolverine, Sailor Moon, and Sepheroth stuck at the London Excel. It’s very Meta.

John Robertson is making himself very comfortable on the sofa. This quickly descended into absolute Mayhem, and it was truly glorious.
After I met up with Jenny were we grabbed some American Candy and went to watch Dan Da Dan in the Platinum Suite.

After some Dan Da Dan, it was down to the central stage for The Dark Room.

If you have never heard The Dark Room, well, it’s a hilarious homage to the text-based games of yesteryear. With a dark and twisted premise, this was a definite highlight of my weekend.
And finally it was home time…

7pm, and I was glad to be getting some fresh air.
