Ever since I first saw the first trailer for The Fellowship of the Ring back in the year 2000, I’ve just been obsessed with this franchise. I’ve read every book, played the games , and quoted the films over and over again.
And yes, I did get bored with the latter Jobbit film, but for the first time in a while, I’m excited by a trailer for a Lord of the Rings film.
Directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who is famous for working on multiple Ghost in the Shell releases, this film is set 183 years before the events of those films and tells the story of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary king of Rohan, and his family as they defend their kingdom against an invasion of the Dunlendings.
Not only does Miranda Otto return to the franchise to once again play Eowyn, who narrates this tale, but Brian Cox plays the legendary Helm Hammerhand in the film.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on December 13, 2024, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
