The absolute coward in me finally worked up the guts to watch V/H/S/85 and you know what, this one mixes the blood soaked brutality of yesteryear with the more cerebral and well thought out horror of the 21st Centuary.
V/H/S/85 is not your average horror movie, this is infact an anthology movie, so there is something in it for everyone. Not only that this film really elevates the found footage genera in a way that generally entices me, much like the Blair Witch did back in the 1990’s. It just feels fresh and because it’s an anthology if you feel your limits being pushed it’s easy to take a break and come back to it.
But of course, this film is going to feel fresh, it has some seriously talented pedigree working on it. Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange & The Black Phone), Natasha Kermani (Lucky), Chad Villella, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet (all worked as producers on the Scream franchise) so of course this film is going to be bloody fantastic.

I guess for me the real appeal of this being an anthology film is that it gives you a great variety of stories to tell. From a vacation gone wrong, to a killer family, a good old fashioned killer in the house and even a dark god possessing a man, this collection has something for everyone.

In my opinion a good scary story will have you both looking away from the screen, while never taking your eyes off of it, all the while knowing that this movie is going to haunt you for a long time. V/H/S/85 manages to do that, multiple times over and god I wish I could tell you more but I desperately want to avoid spoilers.
But if all this excites you, then not only can you watch V/H/S/85, but you will be happy to know that it is part of a wider series. So for all you horror fans screaming for more, I highly recommend you check out more of these devilishly good films.
And if all that has you sold then go check it out because this movie is available for purchase now.
