Many of you will not be familiar with Kwai Chang Caine, but he is a pretty iconic character. Back in the 1970’s he was the lead character in the TV series Kung Fu, played by the now deceased David Carradine. Each episode of the show would see Carradine journey the Wild West as he searched for his missing brother and beat up the bad guys with his badass martial art skills.

The show was definitely of its time, but it ran for Three Seasons, One Movie, a Four Season Spin Off Series set years later and also apparently a Kenny Rodgers project. He was definitely popular in his time and would lead to Carradine eventually playing Bill in the Kill Bill series.

So as you may have guessed the living badass that is Donnie Yen will be taking over the role of Kwai Chang Caine, in this series. Though I wonder will they skip the mixed race concept from the original series. I’m also wondering will the film lean into the fact that much of the old west rail roads were built by Chinese immigrants?

With Donnie on board we can guarantee that the fighting will be epic. Not only that but Bullet Train director David Leitch, is apparently wanting to direct. Stephen Chin (War Dogs) will be writing the script.
