Enter the Dragon’s Den: Game of prequel brings offsite to SDCC

House of the Dragon is coming.

The Game of Thrones universe is expanding with prequel “House of the Dragon”. And where better to introduce it than Comic Con? It has already been revealed that the show will be getting a panel in Hall H during the convention with stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Graham McTavish, Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, as well as George R.R. Martin and co-showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, in attendance. But now details about their offsite have also been released.

The offsite titled “House of the Dragon: The Dragon’s Den” will transport guests to a Targaryen-ruled Westeros for an immersive experience.

Fans will step into King’s Landing and see a ceremonial dragon hatching experience where they can select their own dragon egg. Attendees will be led through seven phases (including the caverns of Dragonstone and the Red Keep), encountering special interactions and sound sensory elements. On the last stop, guests will enter the Throne Room. There they will have an opportunity for a photo op on the new Targaryen Iron Throne. Each attendee will also have a chance to hatch their dragon egg in “House of the Dragon: DracARys” (an augmented reality app), which they can continue to raise at home.

The offsite will take place on Thursday 21st-Saturday 23rd11am-6:30pm and on Sunday 24th11am-4:30pm. It will be located at MLK Promenade (326 W Harbor Dr).

If you’re looking to avoid the lines, there will be the chance for fans to receive two fast-pass tickets each for the experience at designated “HBO Max Drop Zones,” which will serve as beacons for HBO Max activity across SDCC. Each visit to a Drop Zone will present attendees with special content, giveaways and freebies, VIP seats to screenings, and more.

All of this sounds like HBO and House of the Dragon will have a very big presence at Comic Con this year, and we’re very happy for the GOT shaped hole in our heart to finally be filled.
