Dynamite: Elvira Meets Vincent Price #4

The final chapter in David Avallone’s mad capped series is as eccentric as the previous entries, though this one turns the epicness up to eleven. If you are unfamiliar with the series then let me fill you in on what it contains. Ancient Egyptian curses, a trek around the world, betrayal, drama, gods plotting the end of humanity, cults, and of course two of Horror’s most iconic personas Elvira – Mistress of the Dark and Vincent Price.

And if that doesn’t turn you on, I honestly do not know what will.

From here onwards there will be some spoilers, but I will try and keep them light.

Plotwise this book kicks off with our heroes on the verge of losing, but luckily through some cunning and daring planning, they manage to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. And if you are shocked by that ending then you clearly have not been paying attention to what kind of story this is. Of course, to get to this ending we also have to journey through some great meta-humor, a few jabs at the entertainment industry, a very charming Deus Ex Machina, and a few Egyptian Gods. So the journey is well worth it.

The book made me laugh a lot and for that alone, I really cannot stress how much you should all read it. To often comic books tend to forget that not everything needs to be activated first and sometimes we all just need a good laugh. This series is such a welcome reprieve from everything else being made today.

And all this luscious lunacy is given life by the gorgeous art of Juan Samu whose style perfectly matches the tone of this series.

if this review has you interested then I am glad to inform you that the book will be available for Purchase from the 5th of January 2021.
