Based on the debut novel by Indian author Aravind Adiga, The White Tiger tells the tale of Balram Halwai, a poor village boy. We follow his journey to Delhi, where he works as a chauffeur to an extremely rich landlord. At first he is happy in his new life, but things take a turn for the worse and he ends up running away to Bangalore.
The film takes a hard look at religion, caste, loyalty, corruption and poverty in India. Topics that many of us can relate to in one way or another. The White Tiger is a story that needs to be told and the world if all the better for it.
